A cooperation between the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation and La Lampe Magique
La Lampe Magique was founded in 1994 and is based in Limeil-Brévannes, a community in the south-eastern suburbs of Paris, France. The organisation was founded with the aim of providing entertainment and offering variety for children at the hospital – all year long, to make longer stays a bit more pleasant. On the one hand books, comics as well as multimedia devices such as TVs, DVD-players and game consoles are provided while on the other hand voluntary clowns, puppeteers, singers and many more try to bring a smile on children’s’ faces.
For some time now, the organisation has tried to set up a well-equipped library in a relaxed atmosphere at the paediatric unit at the Hôpital Intercommunal de Créteil in Limeil-Brévannes. In cooperation with the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation they are now able to realise the project. Selected books, comics, media and comfortable furniture provide for a special learning and reading pleasure. This way, children can use their time at the hospital productively or in the act of reading simply forget everything around them for at least short time.
*For legal reasons, the children’s faces had to be concealed.
More than 200 children at the pediatric unit at the Hôpital Intercommunal de Créteil in Limeil-Brévannes as well as future patients will enjoy a more pleasant stay at the hospital by having the opportunity to spend their free time learning and reading.
