A Christmas project took children with special needs to the theatre and gave them lots of presents and educational games for the organisation.
Every year the Austrian Lyoness employees pull together for a good cause. They collected donations, baked cakes and biscuits and together with a social organisation, they planned an unforgettable day as well as organising presents which brought the children and adolescents so much happiness.
This year it was the children of the social education After School Centre in Graz who got the big surprise. The Christmas project took place over two days, for the first time ever. On the first day 20 children and 10 carers went to see the "Frida Mut" performance in the "Frida & Fred" Children's Theatre. Afterwards they were taken to the Lyoness Group AG company canteen in Grazbachgasse, where they all shared lunch together.
And that was just the beginning. The day after the eventful trip to the theatre some of the employees were invited to the organisation where the children surprised them with a Christmas performance of their own. After the performance, it was time to give presents to the children and their carers. The CFF Mascot, Lyco, gave the children sweets and the carers received community and educational games for each group, which meet the needs of children and adolescents with special needs. In addition, we were also able to fulfil a long-term wish of the organisation by purchasing a monochord for them, which they will use in future for music therapy in the After School Centre.
We were particularly pleased that the employees had baked their own cakes and biscuits which sweetened up the day even more for the 50 children, and the whole group then had a great time together for the rest of the afternoon.
We would like to thank all the employees, Susanne Albrecht (Actress in "Frida Mut"), the Lyoness Group AG, and in particular the staff in the Lyoness canteen in Grazbachgasse, who made it possible to give the children two fantastic days which they will never forget.
The goal was to take the children from the After School Centre on Panoramagasse, Graz to see a performance at the "Frida & Fred" Theatre, to invite them for lunch and to surprise them with community and educational games and a monochord (musical instrument for music therapy) which they needed, as well as sweets.
