What is it like when 1,000 children get excited?

The children at our Holy Trinity School in Nigeria were really excited, as a container was delivered there, full of desperately needed school material and much more.

You could feel the excitement rising days before the container reached the school, so the teachers and children were overjoyed as it finally arrived filled with school equipment, furniture, shoes, pencils and sports equipment.

Things that are easily organised for schools in Europe are not so simple in Nigeria, which made it even more exciting for the teachers, carers and over 1,000 children who attend the school. For many of the children it was the first time that they had ever had a school bag, not to mention one filled with books and pencils, so it was a special experience for the children as they unpacked their bags, and one that they won't forget in a hurry.

It took hours to unload the desperately needed material, which was exhausting for the teachers. At the end of the day the children went home with happy faces, and they couldn't wait to start school the next day with their new equipment.

We are really happy that after improving the school infrastructure we now also have school equipment, which brings us another step closer to creating a better learning environment for the children and adolescents.
